When people call the Tea Party movement “libertarian” rather than “conservative.” Next time Michele Bachmann wants to embrace gay marriage and legalize marijuana, let me know.

Of course “conservative” is a misnomer as well. Going by definition, conservatives want to maintain the status quo and adopt change only gradually. Reactionaries want to roll back change and return to the past, the status quo ante (e.g., Rand Paul saying the Civil Rights Act was unconstitutional; the claim if we just repeal PPACA, everything with our health care system will be fixed).
